1. Tell him you dont' think that you are ready to say "i love you" yet. Good for you for being smart.

3. your only 12 you shouldnt be worrying too much about this stuff.
you can say i love you and still mean you just like him. but make sure he knows you only like him and its nothing more.
usually guys at 12 dont even mean it when they say i love you
4. If you feel this way then you don't love him. You know when you love someone. And since you two are only 12 then I bet he just means that he really likes you and isn't sure about much more than that. You guys are a little young to date; especially seeing as you don't know what to say in this situation.
