I met a guy and I dont want to be judgemental, but I dont know if I could trust him. He went to prison for larceny. He was locked up for a couple of years. He is super intelligent & attractive, but I keep thinking to myself how can I have a future with him if he has a felony and cant find a job?
Then I always think he might steal something. I know he payed his debt to society, but its always in the back of my mind. Tell me what you think?
Answers:
1. No.
2. There are plenty of fish in the ocean. Stay friends but don't let him cramp your style.
3. i think everyone disurves a second chance but when it comes to serious relationships you have to look out for what you think is best
4. If you believe he's changed, or the circumstances that caused him to steal has changed, then you can probably trust him, but if you can't trust him then a relationship can't work.
5. I wouldnt. You deserve better. If he was locked up for so long he had a lot of time to think so he appears smart but if he really was that smart, he wouldnt have been caught : )
Why make your life complicated. Marry a good boy. That's what I did and Im super happy. No drama in my life.
6. I wouldn't
7. If you can't get past the crime he was convicted of you need to move on. You and him will never be able to have a real and committing relationship if you constantly have a fear he might steal something.
8. you are being judgemental, reason he can't get a job is ppl like you, you , being the judgemental type cannot have a relationship with him, let him find someone who can
9. personally - no.
people can learn from their mistakes and hopefully this guy has done so. I'd be very careful and watch him like a hawk to see if he has any of the larceny tendencies. Remember trust is earned not given. He should know he has an uphill to climb and needs to go out of his way to prove his ways. (getting a job would be one thing to do, no matter what the job is, working at Mc.d's works)
So who pays the lunch tab?
also, remember, Its hard for a leopard to change his spots.
10. Did he voluntarily pay his debt to society or was he forced to do it?
You say he is super intelligent and attractive. What does a con look like? You need to cut your losses now and get rid of the guy; you can do better.
You have no future if you stay with him; he can't vote, he can't have a professional license; and he can't find a decent job and you can't trust him. WHERE WILL THAT LEAVE YOU? Making a living for both of you.
