If you Aunt by marrage, mother dies would you feel you had to go to her funeral? Even though you hadn't seen them in close to 10 years but you did spend alot of time with her when you were little?
Answers:
1. 2 hours ago The funeral is about 3 states away from me and I didn't want to be the first time I saw them in a long time was because of a funeral.
2. yes in that case yes you would and should go
3. go to the funeral. it's not just for deceased...they dont know you are there!, it's to support those who were close to the deceased. sorry to hear
4. if you two were truly close back in the day maybe it would really help her out emotionally if she had you to help her deal with this, take her mind off things a lil, and remember good times together =)
5. you go to the funeral regardless if you got along or not out of respect,
furthermore, if you later change your mind you'll regret not being there
6. attending funerals is really about how much you respect and care for the loved ones left behind, not about you. How much do you respect and care for the people the deceased left behind? Would you like those people to know that you share their grief or do you not want to be involved in the grieving? It's up to you. You decide what the moral decision is.
7. it's up to the person. it would be very nice if you can go. it would make her happy. it will show your respect for her. but if you really can't go, then maybe you should send them a small gift like a hamper with wine and a card to show that you care and apologize for not being able to go.
8. There is no obligation to go to any funeral. Plus she isnt even related to you. Shes the mother of a lady who married into the family. You could send a bereavement card though.
9. there is never an obligation to go to a funeral.
to answer your question, just put yourself in her shoes.
if you were in her shoes, would you expect for her to be at your funeral? would you want her to be there for you? if so, then go. if not, then that is your choice.
