Any (appropriate or meaningful) sayings/phrases in your family?

2. If my sister is telling me about a guy, I'll ask her what he looks like, and she'll say, "He looked like a man". That means that the guy was completely boring and nondescript.
Or, if I'm out with my sister, and we see a woman with a busted, obvious weave in her hair, I'll say, "Gee, is that real??" in a really sarcastic way. That also applies to really obvious implants/contacts/designer knock-offs, etc.
3. When we were young my father use to ask us if our mother had any kids that lived. When we got older we realized it was his way if letting us know we had done something stupid.
In my family our favorite phrase is "I Love You"!
4. "You can replace your friends and boyfriend/girlfriends but you can never replace family"

I made that one up.My mom used to quote grandpa saying "fair is a goats hine end(inresponse to that isnt fair).

8. Not approperate. But funny. My sister was about 3 and she always had to announce when she had to go to the bathroom. So she would say as loud as she could, "I have to wee wee the pot!!!" And if she didn't like you, you were the worst name she could think of, it was a black black porcupine. We still say that stuff to this day!!! One more, she was comical. If she had to go #2 really really bad, she thought of the biggest number she could at the time, 89. So she would say, "I got to go 89!!!" So you knew she had to go really bad. We still say that too.

10. If somebody was complaining about something of no concern to my dad, he would always look them straight in the eye and say "Sounds like a personal problem to ME."
We still say that in my family.
Also, if someone was lamenting that "so and so" was making their life miserable, dad would reply "You make your own happiness. Others cannot cause you to be unhappy unless you permit them."
We still say that, too.
