Parents/Gaurdians?

If you weren't speaking to your child (by your choice, not theirs) would you want them to tell you if they are moving to another state? or would you prefer another family member to tell you? And if you'd rather your child told you would you want them to tell you over the phone, via e-mail or in a letter? How much notice would you want? Thanks.

Sorry, I should have said before: I'm the child, my step-mum won't talk to me anymore.

3. If you don't care enough to even talk to them ... why do you care if they move???

4. i would tell them if there was ever a reason they or you did want to get in touch in furture.just do a letter

5. I don't know how any parent or child could not be speaking to family members period. As you said it is a step parent I would be ringing your father and telling him directly. I believe family's have to make extra effort to resolve differences no matter what they are (except maybe sexual abuse). If phone or visiting is too hard I would send a letter and email and hope that at some point you can resolve the problems. Time is too precious to have disharmony
