Okay, I went on a couple of dates with this guy a couple of years ago and he was a complete sweet heart. However, I wasn't wanting anything serious and was a jerk and he ended up hating. me. Well recently we have started messaging and I ran into him in the grocery store the other day. I know he is single, and I am single and ready to get serious....what should I do to get him to ask me out again and give me another chance?

Sorry............ but you cant expect to be horrible to people when it suits you and then nice to them when you want something from them. (specially if they had feelings for you).
If you are really serious you will need to work hard to earn his trust and make sure he understands how BAD you feel for treating him like crap before, but its up to you to do all the work if you want to go out with him again.
3. You mean you got older and came to realize what you had?? Why don't you just tell him what you said here, that you were a jerk and now realize what a loss it was. You must be sure you really want to be with him though and not just because you are lonely. Tell him you'd like a chance to see if things could be good this time IF he wants to that is.
If he says no then don't be mad just chalk it up to a lesson learned. We've all let a good one get away!
