Polka dot wedding?

1. awww that would be so cute! n it would be really different, yet still classic. i think black n white would be perfecttt.

2. I think it will look like you're putting on a circus. You'll all look like clowns. Please don't. Weddings can be cute, but they also need to be beautiful. Stick to solids, satins, and florals.

4. I think that the polka dots would be cute!! You could do like, your traditional white dress, but then you could have like a satin sash around your waist line that is white and purple polka dotted!! or something like that =P But black and white is always a great classic too. Stick with something that is both you and your fiance =)

5. Do what YOU and your fiance want to do...its YOUR day. But just remember that in 20 years it might not seem so cute to have polka dot wedding pictures over your mantle. But having said that...walk to the beat of your own drum and if y'all are cool with it then go for it. Have a happy day!!

10. Black and white polka dots on the decorations and tables should be fine and might even look classy...... but please don't make anyone wear polka dots. Your more conservative family members will laugh at you in horror and shake their heads in embarassment for you, and in 30 years when you look at the photos you will realize why.

I would recommend going with black and white instead of purple and white. It would give your wedding a bit of a romantic 1940's feel (and, as you said, it would also be easier to find). I do agree that you should wear a traditional white wedding dress (with an optional sash). Your bridesmaids could wear black dresses with white polka-dots (and plenty of red lipstick). You could have your groomsmen wear 40's-style fedoras. Incorporate a bit of polka-dot into your decor. (Charger plates? ribbons on the centerpieces? napkins?) Just be careful not to get carried away.

13. Polka Dots can get overwhelming so I would recommend not having too many colors. You could even do solid black and white and use dots for decorations. That could be cool too. Congrats & good luck

15. Polka dots are NOT cute or look good. They are old and ugly. They are so 80s!!! Everyone will think it's an 80s themed wedding. Don't do it!!!!!! You will regret it!!

16. White and purple is gonna be hard to find examples of... but thats the risk you run when being original... and everyone knows how much i LOVE original. Fortunately, if you want pictures to take to your planner, cake person, or whatever... take the pictures of the black and white dots and just say "no black, purple!" Just make sure you establish what exact shade of purple you want. I recommend hitting up Lowe's and grabbing a handful of those free paint swatches... pass those out for florist, cake person, etc to match.

17. Yes, if the polka dots are on the cake and favors it would be really cute. And the dots should be really small and spaced far apart, so the pattern is not overbearing. I wouldnt recommend any polka dots for the bridesmaids dresses or your dress, though.
