I have met a wonderful woman. We "clicked" right away and it has gotten consistently better as time has gone on.
We have now been together two months and I am interested in making this a long term relationship, as is she.
I am uncertain as to when the best time to meet her 8 year old daughter would be. While I know I want to continue to see this woman, I have a nagging voice in the back of my head saying"Be careful you don't hurt the child if this doesn't work out".I also am very aware this will change the dynamic of the relationship, but it is part of the deal, so I cannot just never meet her daughter.
This is a new one on me= even though I have dated quite a bit and am almost 40 I have never dated anyone with a child.

You are serious about this lady so you need to get stuck in and end the child's curiosity.
Act before the child has "invented" a you for her/himself
Dealing with step kids is of course a different question.
4. I would say wait a couple of months. Make sure this is a relationship that has potential to last. The worst thing that could happen is the child could become attached and then a break up.
5. Wow, what a considerate man. Most wouldn't give the child's feelings more than a glancing thought. I commend you. I would say just take it as it goes. With her mother's help, you'll know the perfect time and the best way to introduce yourself to the little girl. Best of luck to all three of you!
