I have some female friends who tell me looks are not imprortant and my girlfriends says looks are very important. I've heard a mix over the years and whats the truth? I think women should be more shallow cause it makes work for handsome guys like me sooo much easier.

1. for most girls i would say...looks definatly arent the most important thing. its obvioulsy cool if theyre good looking, but i think more girls are interested in personality and such
2. looks are not THAT important, but even though we try not to, most girls rely on looks. I go for guys that are funny, sweet, and caring, but i wouldn't date a complete butt ugly dork just because he was nice to me :P. Well thats just my opinion! Hope i helped!!!
3. i like guys that look good,..& like have a good personality,.not realy inmature or that r just jerks,.but yea looks is 1 of the main things when ur like a teen
4. wow someone sounds conceited... "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." but alot of girls can agree on cute guys so its complicated

6. I think that looking your best is very important. You want to make sure you are clean nice and cute. But of course this varies with every girl. No two girls think alike of course. I am a dancer. So I care how I look alot, but then other times I just look at myself once and keep on going.

It will be different from girl to girl, but this is my opinion: sure, looks matter a little... but only really for initial attraction. what gets me more attracted (and keeps me attracted) is his personality (ie. sense of humor, honesty, trust, sincerity, respect, intelligence, etc). a guy can be really good looking but still be a "dumb jock" for example... that will get no where with me. I would choose the average looking, intelligent guy with a good personality over an extremely good looking guy who is unintelligent and dull... hands down every time. looks are not everything, and in my opinion are not "very important" as your girlfriend personally feels they are.
also, you may be decent looking, but if your personal hygiene is very poor, that's definitely a negative. keeping your teeth and body clean, hair combed, etc is essential.
8. it depends on the girl, and how shallow they are. beauty comes from within. they should know that. but it definetly helps.

12. Okay, here's the thing: obviously looks are important to a certain extent... but for females, it's not the end-all. We like nice eyes, a nice smile, a considerate personality, and a guy who makes us laugh. Looks are just a perk.
I personally am totally turned off by "handsome" guys. The kind that think they're hotter than hell... the kind that are models, or do perfume commercials with sexy chicks.... that type of guy is totally stuck on himself. Give me an average-to-cute guy with a sexy smile who makes me laugh, and I'm happy :)
13. I like guys who's fun to be with, caring, and of course understanding... if he's a good looking that would be consider as bonus..
