me and my boyfriend have been dating 4 a couple of months, we usually say we love eachother but we haven't said it in about a 2 weeks. yesterday i told him i loved him and he says we shouldn't say we love eachother bcuz we haven't been thru alot yet. and i asked him why he feels that way and he says he thought about the ppl he really loves which are his grandma, mom and god. but then i asked him didn't he feel love when he used 2 say it and he says “he thought he did but again we haven't been thru alot yet 2 say we love eachother but i really really really really like u”. what should i do? what did he mean? shouldn't he feel love instead of basing it on time? help me out please.

1. hmmm. sounds like he doesnt want to be rushed into it. a few months is a REALLY short time to start throwing the love word around. Trust and communcation are the two important parts of a relationship... give him time, he'll come around.
2. He is probably not ready for that, don't push it. He will let you know when he does.
3. Just take it day by day and dont worry about it!!!
4. sounds like a very mature person. Just have fun and don't worry about deep feelings. If you are still doing things together and enjoying it, enjoy it!
5. do YOU really love him? how do you know? he is probably comparing his feelings for his family with you and realizes there is no possible way he can feel that way for you...yet. He is being realistic and while its probably ok to say you love eachother, real love is forged over a long period of time. dont be upset, just realize he is practical. i guess some of us realize that love is not just something you can fall in and out of. its deeper than mere affection and sturdier than lust
6. He's right. You two have not been through enough to be truly in love. You might be in lust with each other, or infatuated, but not in love. Love takes time.
Because, you can't be truly in love with someone, until you truly know them, and it is impossible to really know someone in a couple of months.
