My husband and I are going to a wedding next weekend and need to get a gift for the bride and groom. We are friends with them-- I wouldn't say super close, but people we hang out with from time to time. The reason I'm asking for suggestions is because they don't have a registry and my hubby and I are flat broke. We want to get them something nice and meaningful, but don't have the cash to drop on something fancy.
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!
Answers:
1. How about divorce papers or mabe some explosives
2. I'm thinking back to my wedding day and I recieved a wedding album about a week after my wedding from a friend filled with pages and pages of wedding pictures she took... I absolutely loved it! It was so meaningful... and captured some moments our photographer missed.
3. Go to an outlet store and get 2 champagne flutes and a decent bottle of champagne
4. If you're strapped for cash, you can get them something thoughtful. Ex. go to a "Things Remembered" store and purchase a nice inexpensive item (ex. clock, toasting glasses, etc.) that has their name engraved with their wedding date.
They also have platters there, where you can get the guests to sign and then bake it to protect the ink.
You can also get them a picture frame (Bed Bath & Beyond) where the guests can sign and they can hang on their wall.
You have a year to give them a gift. Good luck!
5. mystkltuch's idea was really good! The wedding photo album, for the wedding just by them a card and say your gift will be here next week. Or something of that sort. It's a great idea and can be very inexpensive
6. We got my friends a small gift basket with cheap wine glasses and some bar stuff. We also got them a making drinks for dummies book. THey loved it
7. remember, you have a year to give a gift. but one fun gift we got was breakfast in bed trays and a basket with pancake mix, good syrup, cinnamon sugar, a couple of nice plastic plates and some cool napkins. you can get all that at an after xmas pier one sale! Or Home Goods - they have great food items there! - it is still something we use after all these years AND you can play a rockin game of yahtzee on the trays!
