Dealing with taking things personal..?

hey everyone! thanks for your advice in the past. For some reason..Im now dealing with taking things personally. Ive been dating someone...and our main communication outlet when we dont see each other is mostly through texting. Of course it's not the best way to communicate..but its what we have. He is two years older than me..and today..he wrote "your very sexually attractive...its just your a little too young". im 17, he's 19. I asked if it bothered him..and he said no. Well why would be bring it up if it didnt? He seemed ot think I was neurotic for bringing it up but its frustrating to have someone tell you your great and wonderful..and then.."your too young". thats not the only thing though..theres other things..How can you cope with not taking things to personally? I hate being over-sensitive to little stuff thats not worth being mad over! Perhaps its true you never know the tone of someones voice while texting..and im just paranoid..? ahh! any advice is appreciated

Answers:

1. its hard sometimes to not take what people say or type personal but a very good friend told me long ago and it has helped me since to just not take them personal but to take it serious for what was been said or typed people are going to say what is on their mind rather we like it or not it is our attitude to who we deal with it and that is something that we control

2. stay chatting a bit longer, are you sure he does not want you just to text ,is he texting others
