I was thinking with as much as I have talked to my X and seen him, that what if he just didn't know how to say that he wants to be with me still even though he is the one that left. Like he is not sure what to say because he knows he hurt me. Should I just ask him if he wants to work things out? Maybe I am just thinking too much.

2. Asking him to work things out would be the best, just go out for coffee or lunch, or even a walk through the park or something. Talk about things and lay it all out there so you both know whats up. He might have gotten scared of committment and now realizes what he lost but doesnt know how to ask you back.
3. Lol u phrased the question incorrectly..obviously you are the one who sees that he wants you back...hence..you more that likely what he back too..I say ask him and see how things go.
