I am the type that one will call a loner never really have a pal, a good friend (by the way good friendship is great). I recently met my friend and we just clicked. I got so comfortable with my friend that I would jokingly say certain words as such (dude you're an idiot, no fool, man you're jerk) I did not realize that I was offending my great friend by saying these things. He told me all this the other day and I could not and still can't stop feeling like crap because I know it was never my intent...I talk to my girl that I am seeing and she told me that I should talk to him which I did. I did hard to apologize and show emotion to another dude but I don't care to do this for my great friend but I am not sure how to make it up. I am a very polite person in fact a lot of people like me personality. I guess I lashed out on my friend and I am feeling really sorry about it. what else can I do? This is my only friend...

You should apologize. Even if it means doing it again & again. How many friendships/relationships were ruined because an apology wasn't accepted & the offending party didn't bother to re-apologize? Remember, you might not see the actual effect of an apology, but somewhere, something is softening up inside the heart. A 2nd apology will never hurt. But explain it to him as well that what you said was purely "in jest & fun", nothing malicious at all..The 2nd time around he will be more receptive already. Hey, you might just had caught him in a sensitive & down day. This happens a lot of times. In fairness, I should give credit to your friend for being honest & open with you. Others would simply clam up& start avoiding you, leaving you confused & hurt. He is a very decent guy, letting you know what you did.
3. um...man that sucks....the only thing i can think of is talk to him. like just make sure he knows that you were totally joking around. like tell him that you honestly didnt think it would offend him in any way and your sorry......and let him know that if you would of known then you wouldve never talked like that to him..because hes your friend.
