1. As a black woman let me be the first to tell you that you should never make statements intended to categorize a group of individuals as similiarities and common ground doesn't make us the same. If you are well dressed, well spoken and black people appear to be suprised and taken aback. For example, Barack Obama; " he is so articulate and well spoken." It is a fact of life that black people are and have been gravely impoverished for centuries as a class of people, however there are those individuals that strived for a better life via a better education to give their future generations a fighting chance. So, to get around to answering your question, if you have offended someone, sincerely apologize and ensure your future actions support this. You have been very public voicing your ignorance of others, now would be the time to donate your time and energy into making a difference and helping those that might need a hand. Tutoring, mentoring, exposure to new things. Remember, it is an honor to share the same race as some of this world's greatest women; Coretta Scott King, Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, Cicely Tyson. Be proud of your stock, challenges and all, be the one to make a difference vs condemn. Much love to you my little sister, stay encouraged and humble and this too shall pass. God loves you and wants to see his love reflecting back. If God is pleased with you than that is what is truly important.
