is this weird....does age matter? i have been going out with my boyfriend for a year now and he is turning 19 in november..im just wondering if im too young to have an older boyfriend like that. ..my parents seem to think its very wrong and dont respect him. what do you guys think?

1. yea.. your underage.. and hes legal if you do anything sexual or have sex.. its illegal. he could go to jail
2. That's no problem at all. It might be a problem if you were 12 and he was 19, but 16 to 19 is not much difference at all especially if you stay together as you get older. 24 and 21 is not a bad difference at all.
3. In most states there is a 3 year law (and 4 years in some) for couples with one over and one under 18.
Meaning you guys will be exactly 3 years apart. So it is legal. Your okay. I don't find anything wrong with it.

5. I don't think its wrong u guys are roughly only two years apart. U guys are probably on the same maturity level since girls mature faster than guys. while your parents can't tell u who to date or like u should still consider their opinions. u, your parents, and ur boyfriend should sit down and have a heart to heart talk about the relationship.
6. well this can go both ways but i think that it is not right because of the fact that you have your holl life ahead of you and it might work out but what happen if it does not and you and your stop talking to your parents i think family comes first you young find somebody you age and because by you dating older guy you have to grow up to fast and that's the worst thing.
7. My boyfriend is also years older then me and we started datind when i was 17 and he was about to turn 21. He was freaking out about the age and laws my parents also. Now i'm almost 21 and he is almost 24 and we've been together for 3 years and we are planing our wedding and my parents love him for me. Just give it some times once you turn legal and you both show your parents that you are taking this relationship seriously they will loosen up a little bit. Its hard for parents to let go specially when you are the girl. But i do not that if you guys are being sexually actif it might be a prob your parents might take him to court because he is of age and your not. Just be carefull and try to have him work things out with your parents, show that he is serious and respect them and you. Good luck
8. That doesn't seem so bad. Though, it's probably a good idea not to have sex with him until you're 18 (or past the age of consent in your state). Your parents would likely jump at the chance to have him put in jail.
