1. Someone who is as changy as that is not really the kind of guy you should want to go out with... but yea.. I guy who was really interested in you would make the effort to talk i think, unless he's shy, but he doesnt seem that way. The fact that he likes another girl is bad, it doesnt sound like he takes girls very seriously, i could be wrong but judging from this excerpt... The only true way, although a little daunting, is to ask him out, the biggest risks are either he'll say no (which aint the END of the world) or you'll lose your friendship with him (but really it doesnt sound like youve got much of a friendship). Go out with him, try it out, and if he really does like you he'll be comitted. There is always the chance that he made up this girl in order to get your attention and the fact that your convos "arent much" is because he's nervous and not so sure what to say. So yea keep talking to him id suggest, and while asking him out is a LittlE scary it will give you a final answer and i dont see what you have to lose
