We've been dating for a year and a half. He's going to school 500 miles away so I only see him once a month or so, and it's his 21st birthday, but he doesn't drink. He lives in the middle of nowhere so there aren't many places to go, so i have to be creative. I don't just want to get something for the sake of getting him a present, i want it to be special. And everything i can think of i end up deciding he would find impractical, even an ipod. He loves rock concerts, but i can't find any tickets...I've exhausted my possiblities. Any ideas??

Does he like sports? Maybe a blanket with his favorite sports team on it. They are like $50-100

7. Perhaps this is old school, but you could make a CD of all the songs that remind you of him or special songs. Then, I would just think of something maybe he has mentioned he needs... something for his dorm, if he is in one? Spice it up though, like if it is a night stand, get one with a glass top and put pictures of you together inside the top. Creative gifts are the best and think of something he will like, but will bridge the distance between you for the years to come. Good luck!
